ABOUT

Meet Your Photographer

My name is Frankie and I'm that person hanging out with the dog at your house party. I am crazy about two things in life: animals (particularly dogs) and photography.

Born in the UK but living in Hong Kong, I love creating portraits of dogs (and sometimes cats!) in the diverse and dynamic locations our city has to offer.

I have three dogs of my own: a border collie, a whippet and a recently adopted mixed breed puppy (pictured below) who I try my very best to keep up with, and two rescue cats who successfully keep all of us in our place at home.

TLDR: If I’m not walking a dog, pointing my camera at a dog, or looking at pictures of dogs then I’m probably thinking about dogs.

Why dog photography?

I’ve been a dog lover my entire life, but only became a dog owner later in my life when we adopted Indy, a Shetland Sheepdog, estimated aged 5.

Timid, gentle, and very overweight for her small size, we spent a lot of time building up her confidence and her tolerance for exercise. We weren’t even sure if she’d been on a ‘proper’ dog walk before.

We just connected and she became my little shadow, following wherever I chose to go. Devastatingly, our time with Indy was relatively short-lived as the vet found suspicious lumps in her throat less than two years later that would soon be diagnosed as aggressive lymphoma.

If she was only 5 when we adopted her then she only lived to see the age of 7 - to say this was extremely unfair is a massive understatement.

I wish I was as skilled with the camera when I had my first dog as I am now.

I look back at the tiny number of phone photos I have of her and while they bring with them a whole lot of positive emotions, I’d love to have had the skills to create something special that I could proudly display at home this day. My memories of Indy have directly influenced my drive to take as many pictures as possible of my dogs now, have them printed and hung on the walls of my own home, and pushed me to start my business.

I’d love to now to help you craft timeless images of your pet which will stay with you for their lifetime and beyond, proudly on display for many years to come.

Photography has reinvigorated me over the last few years, and given me purpose and joy on days when the only safe activities were to walk the dog somewhere quiet or stay at home.

I have also been spurred on by achieving several photography awards, merits and accreditation from international photography bodies in early 2022. As a self-confessed introvert, being behind the camera emboldens me to take control and create beautiful artwork, allowing my photography - and your pets - to take centre frame.
